About

Most of us have two lives: the life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands Resistance. -Pressfield This course is Section E of Module 2: The Many Faces of Resistance Main Learning Outcome After completing this module, participants will be able to: Identify resistance as an internal force that appears when meaningful change or goal-setting begins Lesson 1 Resistance -The Hidden… Recognize the root causes of resistance, including fear, self-doubt, criticism, financial concerns, and relational dynamics Understand how resistance sabotages motivation, focus, and consistency, especially when goals align with personal growth Apply practical strategies to work with resistance rather than against it, using clarity, self-compassion, and persistence Use reflective exercises to surface personal resistance patterns and consciously replace negative thought loops with supportive ones General Content Summary This section explores resistance as the hidden internal force that blocks progress toward meaningful goals. Resistance is presented as negative self-talk, fear-based thinking, and emotional hesitation that arises precisely when growth matters most. Participants learn that resistance is not a sign of failure, but a natural response to change, visibility, and personal evolution. The lessons examine common triggers such as fear of failure, fear of judgment, self-doubt, financial uncertainty, and pushback from others. The section then shifts from awareness to action, offering practical, repeatable strategies: setting clear goals, staying focused on small steps, avoiding self-judgment, building on strengths, forgiving setbacks, and showing up consistently despite discomfort. Finally, guided exercises help participants name their specific resistances, observe the thoughts and emotions connected to their goals, and consciously replace limiting patterns with empowering ones—reinforcing that overcoming resistance is a daily practice, not a one-time event.
